The Idea

One day, Jesus was speaking with a lawyer. He stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” Jesus replied by saying, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” (Lk. 10:27)

As a church, we want to be marked by this “Great Commandment.” If we love God with every ounce of our fiber, and we seek to love our neighbor with this degree of love, then we will have achieved our purpose and mission in life.

This means a radical commitment to seeking Jesus and seeing him at work in the Scriptures and personally in the Spirit. It also means we are attuned and attentive to the needs of our neighbors in the local cities and communities. We learn to assume their challenges and do our best with what we’ve been equipped with to address them in a holistic, sustainable, healthy way.

The Mission

1027 Church exists to reach out to the de-churched and un-churched in the 626/. We strive to “love God with all our heart, soul, and strength and our neighbor as ourselves” (Lk. 10:27).

The Vision

1027 Church aims to accomplish this vision by forming Christ in our community through the preaching of the Word and leading of the Holy Spirit. People will be brought into relationship with God through discipleship, service, and personal formation in the Spirit.

A healthy church culture would look like the following:

Neighbors and strangers converted into the faith,

Personal discipleship and small group involvement,

Spiritual giftings and passions unleashed into purposeful service to the local church and community.
